Over the past 12 years, a number of colleagues have had a major impact on Curtin’s participation in GlobCom. First of all, we’d like to recognise our colleague Dr Catherine Archer, who was the original Curtin contact for GlobCom in 2008/9 and who has since worked with us on multiple research projects investigating the impact of cross-cultural virtual team based learning experiences on learners – and (support) staff.
Veronica Lawrance has been a regular facilitator of the Cross-Cultural Communication unit and represented Curtin at the 2017 Symposium in Bangalore. Dr Adamu Abbas took over from Dr Kamala Vainy Pillai as public relations lead in Miri in 2008 and has been a great supporter of the program since. Finally, we’d like to recognise Dr Karen Conrad, who supported the 2020 cohort of Miri students throughout their CCComm and GlobCom learning experience.
