"GlobCom 2015 in Miri was an adventure unlike any other. The friends I made and the experiences I had were incomparable to anything I've done before. I enjoyed meeting people from so many countries, and
learning about their languages and cultures. It was so exciting for me to be in an environment with so many like‐minded Communication Students‐ we all truly bonded throughout the short time we had together.
I had the experience of a lifetime. I am so thankful to be part of GlobCom 2015."
Megan, email feedback June 2015
"The symposium was an amazing conclusion to GlobCom and I left feeling inspired and fulfilled.
The opportunity to participate in GlobCom was unparalleled to any other learning experience I had."
Stav, email feedback
"I think out of all the amazing things I got from doing GlobCom and attending the symposium, the best thing was that I realised that I would love to work for a company such as WWF."
Isabella, email feedback June 2015
93% of participants in the annual GlobCom feedback survey (very) strongly agreed that the experience had increased their cross-cultural literacy and ability to collaborate in multicultural teams. 69% singled out the Symposium experience as valuable to their learning.
Other learning outcomes emphasised were working across time zones, working with different nationalities and time management. (However, they also highlighted that working in geographically dispersed, multi-cultural teams can be challenging!)
"Thank you for encouraging us to be a part of (the) GlobCom (Symposium) it was an amazing experience!!"

“Its my pleasure to join the event and share our work in implementing Heart of Borneo initiative in Indonesia and engaging stakeholders. . Thanks for your kind invitation! It is a good idea to involve student and young generation in promoting nature. I also enjoyed the trip, mainly our trip to Mulu National Park. We got many lesson learned and good experience from this place in developing ecotourism of similar National Park in Kalimantan”
